BlackPink has been making rounds for a few years and other than being singers and dancers, they have evolved into what we call “fashion icons.” This blog post is one of the 4-part blog series, the topic being on how to dress like every BlackPink member. If you are interested, head on to our blog to read about how to dress like Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa. And for this post, we have a specific member in mind. And that is the powerful vocal of this phenomenal group, Rosé.
Who is BlackPink’s Rosé?
She is widely known as BlackPink’s Rosé but before her fame within the KPop industry, she is Roseanne Park. Born in New Zealand and by age 7, moved to Melbourne, Australia where she attended Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College. It was at this time where she also began singing and learning how to play the guitar and piano and was a regular performer for church choirs.
In 2012, at her father’s suggestion, she joined YG Entertainment’s audition held in Australia and among 700 applicants, she ranked first. Within two months, 15-year-old Roseanne packed her bags and moved to Seoul to officially join YG’s roster of trainees. The very same year, she got her first public exposure, featuring on labelmate’s G-Dragon’s song “Without You.”
She trained for 4 years and by June 2016, she was introduced to the world as the main vocal of YG’s new girl group and from then on, it was history.
How to Dress like BlackPink’s Rosé?
The moment they were introduced in public, all eyes, ears, and attention has been on members of BlackPink. And of course, naturally, we are all drawn to their fashion style. And over the years, Rosé has never failed to wow us all.
We will be showing you the common pieces you will usually see Rosé in when she is out in public. You can also head on over to her Instagram, @roses_are_rosie to see them in Rosé’s personal platform.
Let’s go!
Casual Rosé
No one could ever go wrong with casual athleisure and KPop idols always seem to make your random sweatpants look expensive. In Rose’s case, she is usually seen pairing her sweatpants with crop tops, and once in a while, covering up with a jacket. It’s a very comfortable look if you are looking for something fast and simple to put on for instances like a quick trip to the grocery, a casual meet up with friends, or a short flight.
Crop tops are a staple in Rose’s closet. If you search BlackPink’s Rose Outfit in Google or Pinterest, you would be bombarded with Rose in crop tops, whether it’s from her Instagram, fansite taken photos, airport fashion and even official schedules. There’s no doubt that stylists love putting Rose on crop tops, I mean wouldn’t? She has an amazingly small waist, emphasized even more with high-waisted bottoms. Her collection with crop tops varies from halters to square necklines.
Crop tops are a perfect twist to a rather simple outfit. For countless of times, I’ve seen a common jeans and sneakers combo, but then the crop top brings it all out together making it seem a perfectly-planned outfit, when in fact it is hastily put on.
There’s not a lot of instances where we see Rose, except for stage performances, donned on a dress. But when she does, oh boooy, come on. She should really wear it more often. Casual dresses, long or short, looks great with Rose’s slim physique and long legs. It’s a feminine sight out of their girl crush group concept that we usually see her in.
With dresses, there’s not a lot of styling to do. But just like Rose, you don’t need to stick to the simple ones you can find. You can opt in for off-shoulder dresses or this iconic asymmetric blue wrap dress she is seen wearing at the airport.
I’ve seen a lot of Rose’s pictures and I believe she has more than two moods when it comes to dressing up. One of them is covering up with either jackets or a trusty long coat which is perfect for the numerous flights she has to take in a year.
For colder seasons, you can always opt for long coats under your outfit. Not only are they incredibly comfortable and warm but stylish as well. These never seem to go out of style and so I suggest you invest in a good one.
Rosé’s Stage Oufits
Given that these were outfits chosen for Rosé by their stylists, it still doesn’t stray away from the fact that you too can totally look the part. Of course, these are usually more expensive and brand name pieces but you can look for alternatives or similar looking ones if you are attracted to Rosé’s outfits.
This black two-piece ensemble she wore during the BlackPink 2019 Private Stage held at Seoul is a total headturner. This outfit really gave Rosé’s shoulders, waist and legs the attention they deserve. Her fair skin and blonde hair also shone with the all black midriff bralette and pleated skirt combo.
Isn’t this perfect for a night out with the girls? Or even for beach day.
THIS! This is my favorite stage outfit of Rosé. Up to date, nothing has ever top this iconic shimmer two-piece she wore during their performance at Coachella 2019. She was really flawless and has worn the most perfect outfit to ever grace the stage of Coachella. She looked effortless and natural with her long wavy blonder hair dancing with the wind.
Another one of those outfit we can wear for an alluring night out and have heads turning. Of course we don’t have to go all out Rosé, donning the entire look for one night. We can totally pair individual pieces with what looks best for us.
Modern vintage seems to be a recurring trend nowadays. A few years back, we were so afraid to wear vintage patterns, probably thinking that it is so old-school for 2019 or for 2020. But, vintage patterns never looked so good until you experiment with them.
Remember when I mentioned that stylists love putting Rosé in crop tops? Well, here we have another outfit that shows her amazing S-line figure. This two-piece set is a dash of antique with its moss green paisley pattern and mesh sleeves.
If you are looking for a more formal attire, you can totally disregard the crop top and opt for this outfit to be a dress instead. With that, it’s a perfect go-to for black tie events. You’d look elegant and alluring at the same time.
This outfit makes it seem like Rosé transported back to old-England with a dash of 21st century with her. Even though this attire is head-to-toe all Yves Saint Laurent that Rosé wore on her way to Paris Fashion Week, this is actually pretty easy to recreate and wear.
If you are looking for a semi-formal or an office attire that you can fashionably wear, try a white button-up tuck into black skinny jeans. Grab a sheer ribbon and tie knot that could pass off as a hastily-tied knot and let’s not forget the blazer that will bring the formal vibe to the simple outfit.
