Anime boys, big and small, who is the most kawaii of them all? Here's a list of the cutest kawaii boys that you will surely love (and maybe already love!), so check them out!
Hinata Shoyo (from Haikyu!)
Known as the Greatest Decoy of the Karasuno Volleyball team, you may know this orange-haired boy for his small stature, but he is also known for his competitive spirit! His childish and cute demeanor may make you root for him every time he wants to battle it out through volleyball, but he is nonetheless fierce! His small stature may give him off that adorable and kawaii vibe, but don’t you dare mess with him with the sport that he loves! He is willing do anything to improve and surpass anyone that comes his way. But despite his fierce competitive spirit when it comes to playing, as the characters of Haikyu would portray it, in normal days speaking to Hinata Shoyo feels alot like staying under the sun for too long! (Get it? ‘Cause he’s like a literal walking sunshine!)
Talk about such an inspiring personality!
Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka (from Ouran High School Host Club)
Haninozuka-senpai, or “Honey” as their guests call him, may look like the baby of the whole Ouran Host Club but it’s actually the total opposite. While you may be deceived by his cute demeanor and adorable outgoing, he is actually a senior in high school! What’s more, their family is known for training military martial arts to the military and the police, and guess what? Honey-senpai is known for his martial arts nationwide!
Known to have his cute bunny plush with him always, Usa-chan, he plays the role as the childish and playful host of the club, and their guests love it!
Hazuki Nagisa (from Free!)
One of the founding members of the Iwatobi Swimming club, Nagisa is the most energetic person of the group and calls everyone around him with nicknames. This strawberry shortcake-loving boy is a responsible one! He took the initiative to bring back the Iwatobi Swimming Club together with every power that he had (with the other founding members, but thanks to him, the club has been chartered into a formal club!). With his former swimming club members during childhood, they are now taking the task to compete together and show their love for swimming!
Others may find Nagisa weird for calling everyone around him -chan, but his adorable personality just wants to make you love him more. A total kawaii boy, if you will.
Soma Momiji (from Fruits Basket)
We first saw Momiji-kun on the 2001 adaptation of Fruits Basket, and in case you haven’t heard of the new adaptation (which started on 2019), then you are missing out! Momiji, the avatar for the Rabbit of the Zodiac Years from which the curse of the Soma family is from, is this adorable boy with blonde hair and known for his “rabbit ears” as his identifying feature in the anime. He falls under the feminine kawaii boy archetype and you are sure to fall in love! Playing the violin since he was little, listen as he serenades into your hearts every time he shows up on your screen!
Fruits Basket is an anime with a lot of plot layers so there’s a lot to uncover into Momiji’s story!
Jin Mo Ri (from The God of Highschool)
He’s your typical fun and loud shounen character. An airhead, a baby, I don’t know, these are the only words that comes out of my mind everytime I think of him. With his long spiky hair and his star-like eyes (like, literally), Jin Mori is not only ridiculously adorable, he is also viciously strong! I dare tell you that he is more than capable to beat you entirely (for sure, lol). But kidding aside, don’t you just feel that motherly instinct in you every time he performs his sudden outbursts? Cause I do. every. time.
Joining the God of Highschool tournament made him to showcase his abilities to everyone and made him enjoy the fight that comes along with it, while also meeting new friends! Watch how Jin Mori’s story start to unfold from being a simple strong highschool student into something more when you watch “The God of Highschool”!
Midoriya “Deku” Izuku (from My Hero Academia)
Did you know that “midori” means green in Japanese? I always remember this everytime I see Midoriya Izuku, our protagonist for the anime My Hero Academia. Izuku, or mostly known as Deku, the current holder for One for All, a quirk coming from generations past brought down to Izuku by All Might, the number one hero. Izuku is not your usual cute kawaii boy character that you often see in anime. While his character was showcased first as a clumsy and un-confident being, he is also brilliant and smart in many ways. The longer the story grows, his development into becoming a great hero is also very worthwhile to watch. Also, expect some cute, and awkward scenes with this little, innocent, anime boy.
Kuroko Tetsuya (from The Basketball that Kuroko Plays)
He might come off a the silent type, treating everyone with the same uninterested expression on his face, but doesn’t that make him lovable all the more? Kuroko Tetsuya, the phantom sixth man of the Generation of Miracles and now playing for Seirin High Basketball team, calls himself the shadow - playing the support role for their ace player, Kagami Taiga. His determination to bring his current high school team to championship won’t stop him, even if they're against with his former teammates!
Zeno (from Yona of the Dawn)
Zeno, too! Zeno, too! The most cheerful of all the Four Dragons from Yona of the Dawn, known for his beautiful blonde mane-like hair, Zenno is a kawaii boy that you want to protect. As a dragon incarnate himself, it is his task to protect the red king incarnate, Princess Yona, in their journey to protecting Kouka kingdom from the sidelines.
Gon Freecs & Killua Zoldyck (from Hunter X Hunter)
Yes, I am mentioning both of our main protagonists from the anime Hunter X Hunter, because why not? Gon Freecs and Killua Zoldyck first met each other when they were taking the Hunter Exam. Every time I see these adorable boys in action and playing, I squeal.
Gon, known with his green getup in the whole anime, has this cheerful and positive energy that anyone will love. Everyone around him are charmed with his innocent kindness that is coupled with a brilliant mind! Killua, known for his shining silver hair, and cunning personality (that we all love, by the way!), is a pro assassin that wants change his ways. Upon knowing Gon, he started following him in his adventure of finding his father while also finding out a reason to reach for in his life.
Both are polar oppostites of each other, yet they also complement each other. When these two are together, "double the trouble" is an understatement. They are sure to solve problems that go along their way with the use of their wits and brains.
Saotome Yoichi (from Seraph of the End)
Yoichi might come off as a very soft boy, but his guts is as hard as steel. His identifying feature is his dazzling green eyes, and messy brown hair. He is also a marksman of the Moon Demon Company that battles out vampires with the goal of reacquiring what humanity once had. He is kind and innocent, loving to his fellow members but also has the strongest will when fighting off against vampires for revenge.
Hanako-kun (from Toilet bound Hanako-kun)
The anime is known for its unique anime style that anyone will love. Hanako-san of the toilet, one of the seven mysteries of Kamome Academy, is known to grant a wish for a price. You knock on the third stall door and call “Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there?”, and there he will appear. What everyone doesn’t know is that Hanako-san is actually a guy! Introduced himself as an apparition with an old uniform and a transparent body, Hanako-san is a cheerful character and is often found to cause mischief, but he also makes sure that he is of help to others whenever they need it.
Don’t you think he’s adorable, too?
Yashiro "Shiro" Isana (from K:Project)
Known as the Colorless King at the start, Yashiro is clueless to everything that’s happening around him. But even when he is faced with countless questionable dangers, he keeps his composure and fights off these dangers with a smile. His positive upbringing makes you want to keep him in your pocket! Yashiro’s identifying asset is his red umbrella that he almost always carries wherever he goes. He is also known to be with Neko, a cute cat girl that can makes visual illusions that confuses its prospects when activated.
Shiota Nagisa (from Assassination Classroom)
Yes, Nagisa is a guy. This often comes off as a shock to his classmates (and to the viewers, too!) as he often has this feminine vibe to him. As the class president of Class E, he, together with his classmates are tasked with the aim to kill their teacher, Kuro-sensei. Nagisa’s identifying feature is his blue hair parted as ponytails. He is very observant as he wants to understand the reason as to why their teacher is doing the things that he is doing.
See how Nagisa’s kawaii upbringing being brought to life in the hopes of successfully killing their very own teacher in order for them to graduate high school.
Yoshida Haru (from My Little Monster)
Must. Protect. I swear this boy needs some parental guidance. Haru is introduced to us as a violent kid that only knows how to punch people straight to their faces. While he often gives off this violent aura, Haru is actually just a sweet boy. Ever since he met the anime’s heroine, Shizuku, he started to show his innocent personality without the cold front.
Surprisingly, even though Haru does not always go to school and is always absent, he is actually a genius! If there’s one story taught me about Haru, it is that one should not judge others’ appearances and start learning what they really are from the inside.
Lag Seeing (from Letter Bee)
Lag is literally the kindest person, ever. As a Letter Bee, who delivers letters to people despite the overwhelming dangers that come with the journey, he makes sure that no matter what circumstances are brought to him, his goal of successfully sending these letters to the appropriate recipient is his outmost priority. Lag is known to have his ruffly silver hair and a blue cap (and uniform) that signifies that he is a Letter Bee. His other identifying features are his purple-colored right eye coupled with side bangs to cover his left eye. See how Lag’s adventure as a Letter Bee helps him in his journey to finding the whereabouts of his mother who was kidnapped to the capital.
