This is not really something serious as you would think it is. What we meant here is simply to check if the aesthetic that you finally chose to use for yourself suits your personality as well.
You ask the questions: Do I like it? Does this fit my interests? Does this fashion aesthetic make me happy? Will wearing these clothes make me comfortable? - or something along these lines.
This is important since there will always be the possibility of having to expend money for the aesthetic - after all, once you have decided that this is something that you want to establish as part of your lifestyle (yes, a commitment, dear!), you will have to buy some accessories and clothes to suit the aesthetic that you are going for, unless of course, you choose to be creative and do things from scratch (which is going to be a smart move, by the way!).
Find Inspiration for Your Aesthetic
There are different ways to find inspiration for your chosen aesthetic. Chances are, you have already figured out ways of finding inspiration by searching for some inspirations from Pinterest for example, or you follow someone who does the same aesthetic in Instagram and TikTok - well, you are doing well, hun! There’s no better way of finding these inspirations by knowing where you want to find them yourself!
Checking Pinterest boards is one efficient way of finding your suited aesthetic inspirations. Another is by going through different hashtags in Instagram and Tumblr, after all, having a lot of sources for this won’t hurt. We are looking for the right inspirations so that we can finally decide on how we are going to sport the aesthetic on ourselves! We don’t want to regret our decision so we have to do the research ourselves to also give us the fulfillment of finding these inspirations ourselves as well.

Nothing much here, just making sure if you were satisfied with the inspirations that you gathered from your search. Going back to the questions that we mentioned from the Personality Check, what have you felt from browsing the inspirations that you were searching for? Did it feel good? Did you feel some sense of fulfillment for it? Were you enjoying the process? Are you excited to gather these clothes and accessories that you have seen from your browsing for inspiration experience? If these are the case, then you should go for it!
However, if you don’t feel like the inspirations were a fit for you, then how about giving it some time to think about it? You know, think about it deeply and contemplate whether this aesthetic is actually right for you. And while you're on that, you can browse the other aesthetics as well that interest you as part of your decision process. In that way, you can compare your thoughts on the different aesthetics that you want to go for and decide from there.
Search for Influencers of the Same Aesthetic
You might have already started the search by finding influencers for the chosen aesthetic that you decided from and yes, that is the best way to actually test if the aesthetic is for you!
How does this work? You list all the influencers of the same aesthetic that you are going for and check which ones were your favorites. And then see if you would enjoy wearing the same clothes that they are wearing or going for the same style that they are sporting. If you also saw that you like how they edit their photos, you can also find that as your personal inspo!
Find a Style that You are Interested In
Taken from the browsing that you did from the different influencers that you are interested in, take into account the styles that they were wearing that you felt was very close to your heart. Was there a specific style that you were so interested in that you wanted to recreate it in real life?
