They are all around the world and everyone (or at least a good portion of the population) seems enamored by them, both men and women alike. But what is it really with them that got everybody in a twist? What is their special something? The face, for sure. They are unusually attractive. The music, absolutely. They have one of the most famous genre in the entirety of the world. Their fashion? Dashing and comfortable. Sometimes, we wonder, how does it feel like to be in their shoes?
If we’re not planning on becoming a KPop star soon, it might be wishful thinking. But that doesn’t mean can’t look the part of it.
The best thing about Korean fashion is that they focus on basic pieces but with mix and match, basic might turn to fantastic. And KPop stars are not any different. Except for their promotional season, whether it be a debut, a comeback, or clothes sponsored by a brand, their fashion pieces can be pretty easy to recreate and follow.
For women, it can be a bit complicated. Just a bit though. It is universally known that women have larger and more varied choices when it comes to fashion and clothes. While some men won’t let that stop them, it is also common to stay with basic pieces such as pants, shirts, and whatever is in between to style the rather dull and plain look.
So if you are a man and trying to experiment with Korean fashion, what could be better than scouring for the best of the best? KPop boy group members have one of the best fashion sense out there. It can’t be help for their side though, with a camera pointed and snapping at you every passing second, you’d want to look your best too.
So here are 12 guide outfits that can help you dress like a KPop boy.
Bad Boy
A bit of a bad boy look is not so bad! But don’t be a literal bad boy though, you can dress like one and act the complete opposite. A black bomber jacket with a black shirt underneath makes a very casual look. If you have a quite stoic face, you can look a bit intimidating in this outfit.
Denim on Denim
A few years ago, denim on denim was a controversial look. People believe that it wasn't meant to be. But look at us now, denim and denim is everywhere and contrary to the controversy a couple of years ago, it actually looked good the more you look at it. Quite a simple outfit though, just pair your denim jacket with a denim pants. The inner wear can vary, but a black turtleneck looks absolutely stunning.
Long Overcoats
An overcoat can make the simplest of outfits dashing. For the overdressed, an overcoat is just the icing on top, probably something as a cover-up. But for a simple shirt and jeans, an overcoat can be the main piece.
Streetwear
South Korea is famous for its simple but undeniably good-looking streetwear. Truthfully, I haven't seen anyone rock a simple sweatpants and pull-over as dashing as KPop idols. I don't know how they do it. If you primary have streetwear in your closet, you are already on your way to dressing like KPop idols.
Oversized Button-Up
Always a staple. KPop idols, both girls and boys, like wearing clothes a size or two bigger. And as a lover of oversized clothing, I can assure you the comfort it brings. Not only that, but if mixed and matched right, it is an all-round trendy piece.
Bright Plaid
Some of us are a bit too apprehensive to experiment with bright colors. But KPop idols are totally up for it and you should too! A bright piece in your dull outfit brings it all up together. Usually, a cover-up would do. Throw in a bit of pattern and you're good to go.
Patterned Button-Up
Men might hesitate to pick up a patterned button-up for the reason that it might not look good. But you'll never know unless you try. Knowing the patterns that are flattering and those that you genuinely like could make the choosing process easier.
Tshirt Over Sweatshirts
We've seen these back in early 2000s and this outfit was a bomb. 2 decades later, it still it. It's not so commonly-seen anymore but it doesn't mean that it doesn't look good. It is simple outfit with a dash layering which is something KPop idols are very good at. You can definitely wear this everyday and anywhere.
All Black Garb
A very common outfit to be seen with men but if you are a bit hesitant to wear head-to-toe black, then here's a little push for you: Don't worry, it looks good. Sure, it can be a bit moody than the rest but if we're talking about going back to the basics, you can never go wrong with a black pants and shirts.
Leather Jackets
A leather jacket is a staple for some, not only because it is stylish but because it will serve you on a lot of different occasions. Night out with friends, a date with the girl, or a semi-formal event, it just seems to fit in just right.
Casual Suit
Suit with a dash of color and crazy. Given that this is not for everyone but if you're the type to be a bit experimental with clothes, I highly suggest you try one of these. A normal suit and tie is a bit boring, you see but it does serves it purpose in making you look formal. But if the event you're attending has loose guidelines and is a bit relaxing, I highly suggest putting a spin to your suit like this picture right here.
