All anime girls are cute, no doubt! However, we listed some of our personal favorites through this article. Wanna know who made it to our list? Here are our picks! (and if you are interested with our picks for the most kawaii anime boys, click here!)
Shiro (from No Game No Life)
The other half of the urban legend 『 』(Blank), Shiro is known for her kawaii features: her colorful eyes, her long, beautiful, white hair, her little crown that she wears on her head, a whole marvelous kawaii package. Even her very own brother is bedazzled with her beauty that he praises her with every chance he can.
Kuriyama Mirai (from Beyond the Boundary)
“Fuyukai-desu!”, or in English, “how unpleasant!,” is Mirai’s tagline. Mirai Kuriyama is a descendant of spirit hunters that are tasked to eradicate Youmu that exist in the world. She’s pretty clumsy and is obsessed with killing off Akihito, a half Youmu, in the start.
Mirai is often physically described as someone who has big, red glasses (as Akihito would say, a spectacled beauty), and is known for her peach-colored hair and cardigan.
Chitanda Eru (from Hyouka)
“I am curious!,” once Chitanda sets her eyes on a problem she wants to solve, she’s unstoppable. She loves strange things, too! Even Oreki Houtarou, the main protagonist of the anime, is lured by her charms and can’t escape her grasps. As once can already tell, Chitanda is very earnest, always curious. She asks questions with no delay whilst looking at them with her wide, purple eyes.
Umaru Doma (from Himotou! Umaru-chan!)
Umaru is the perfect school girl in everyone’s eyes. She excels in school, she has the proper manners, she even excels in everything that she does - but what everyone doesn’t know is that these are all just a front! In all actuality, Umaru is actually a NEET-wannabe who wants to laze around and play video games all day. She is even able to transform herself into a child whenever she wants to when she’s at home (on how she’s able to do this, I don’t know either).
Watch how she successfully annoys her brother every time she gets the chance in the anime!
Makita Yui (from Blue Spring Ride)
Yui is probably your typical kawaii girl - loves girly clothes, loves girly stuff, everything that she does, she makes sure it suits her personality, and that is to be girly. And it’s not because she’s doing this to gain the attention of others, it is mostly simply because she just loves being feminine. She's probably the first real friend that our heroine ever had, Futaba Yoshioka. Yui has pink, short bob hair that anyone would find adorable, with those eyes looking at you, you are sure to melt.
Neko (from K:Project)
She has long, pink hair and has heterochromia iridium wherein her right eye is of a different color (blue) from her left eye (green). Neko is extremely innocent and requires utmost attention, hence this is where Shiro’s guidance comes in. She is also highly attached to Shiro that she’d even alter his memories and of everyone else around him just so to ensure that she is protecting him.
Kusajishi Yachiru (from Bleach)
Known for her short, pink bob hairstyle, Yachiru is always found at the top of the shoulder of her Ken-chan, the captain of the 11tth Division of Soul Society, Zaraki Kenpachi. You might not believe it, but she is actually the vice-captain of the whole division! Yachiru is playful and mischievous, and her favorite people to bully are her very own people from their own division, 3rd and 4th seat Madarame Ikkaku and Ayasegawa Yumichika.
Hirasawa Yui (from K-On!)
Before joining the light music club, she actually has no idea how to play any instruments other than the castanets that she is so proud about. However, the club is in need of a guitarist. She is now forced to learn the guitar if she wants to join the light music club. Yui is also known for her love to food, most especially sweets! Her sweet kawaii nature is coupled with her clumsiness. I swear, everywhere she goes, accidents are prone to happen.
Yui is known for her short brown hair and big cute brown eyes. Watch how Yui becomes a great guitarist while she spends her time in her first club ever in K-On!
Onodera Kosaki (from False Love!)
Onodera is known for her unique hairstyle, her golden brown eyes, and her awkward personality. Onodera is that type of girl you want to marry. She is obedient, respectful and affectionate. She makes sure that she doesn’t bother others. She believes that she is the promise girl that Raku, the protagonist of the story, made a promise with, but there are still a lot of twists that they still have to know before they will know the truth to that.
Her family owns a confectionary shop, and the funny thing is, she doesn’t even know how to make them! She, however, is best when designing them. And yes, she loves sweets, too!
Kitashirakawa Tamako (from Tamako Market/Tamako Love Story)
Tamako is a mochi-loving girl. Cute daughter of a mochi maker, she had a fateful encounter with a royal bird named Dera Mochimazzi. Her identifying features are her ponytails with mochi ties. She’s also a twirler from her school and tries her best in her club activities. She is close friends with Mochizou, son of their neighbor that also sells mochi. Watch how their love story start to unfold in this adorable anime!
Shinomiya Kaguya (from Kaguya-sama: Love is War!)
Shinomiya is not your typical kawaii girl. In fact, she is used to keep up her stern impression on her face, but all these changed when she met Shirogane Miyuki. Now, she gets all flustered as a result of her uncalled for idiotic moments. It is important to know that Kaguya was raised in a very strict environment and is not used to the commonalities of the outside world. As she slowly incorporate to society she is not used to, it’s fun to see her reactions everytime she sees the world around her in a new perspective.
Takanashi Rikka (from Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions)
Takanashi Rikka is a chuunibyou. Just in case you don’t know what that means, it basically also means the 8th Grade Syndrome - a condition that describes a person who has not grown out of their childish fantasies and tries to inculcate it in their real life. The kawaii factor is her eyepatch wherein she believes that whoever sees her golden right eye (which is actually a golden colored contact, by the way) is bound to be her partner to fighting what is right.
Kamado Nezuko (from Demon Slayer)
Often seen with a bamboo to cover her mouth, she does this so she can refrain from biting everyone that gets close to her. After unfortunately becoming a demon herself, she is now incapable of human speech and definitely lost her ability of being a normal being. Nezuko has long black hair with pink ends, soft pink eyes, and is known for her beauty as in the words of her own brother Tanjiro, “ she is known as a great beauty in their hometown.”.
Kamui Kanna (from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid)
Diamond-like eyes, sliver hair, and horns that signify her as a dragon, while Kanna looks like a child, she is actually around 700 years old (and yes, she’s a dragon). Her mannerisms, however, are very child-like: talks like a child, and acts like a child. Maybe these qualities are what makes her adorable from the eyes of the viewers. Don’t be fooled by her softspokeness though! Kanna loves pranks the most, and loves being mischievous at all times.
Yashiro Nene (from Toilet-bound Hanako-kun)
“I want the person I like to return my feelings right away!,” this was Nene’s wish when she wished to Hanako and upon summoning him. But to her dismay, turns out the rumor were nothing but lies. Yashiro Nene is known for her long, cream hair with teal ends. She also has bangs on her forehead that makes her look adorable.
Sakurasawa Sumi (from Rent-a-Girlfriend)
Another rental girlfriend of the bunch, Sumi is easily recognizable with her shoulder-length , pink hair, reddish-pink eyes, and pink uniform. She’s a bit clumsy and gets to into a lot of accidents. Kazuya describes her with as a “sweet girl with a sweet voice” and is often introverted so she rarely talks.
Yamato Rinko (from My Love Story!)
We first saw Yamato when she was harassed on the train and Takeo, the story's hero, was able to help her. Yamato is known for her love for sweet food and is often seen to bring Takeo with confectionaries that she made herself. And as you might have already guessed, Yamato really likes Takeo! And with her failed attempts on trying to confess her love to him, it's actually kind of cute to see her reactions.
Yamato's identifying features are her peach-orange hair with her bright orange eyes. She's also soft-spoken and very respectful of everyone else.
Mizuki Himeji (from Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts)
Soft-spoken and shy, Himeji trys her best to confess her love for Akihisa. Nobody really knows how she ended up liking him but that's a story for another time. Himeji's identifying feautres are his long, thick, pink hair, with her rabbit hairclip, and her big dark blue eyes. She actually excels well in her academics, but due to a certain circumstance that happened during the entrance exam, she failed to enter the higher class sections and ended up with class F.
Hiiragi Tsukasa (from Lucky Star)
Like the rest of the ones in the list, Tsukasa is very soft-spoken. With a yellow ribbon hairband and purple hair as her identifying features, one can tell that she is extremely girly. Her mannerisms are very minute and very lowkey about everything that she does. She also has a twin which is highly different from her.
Kuronuma Sawako (from From Me To You)
And last but not the least, we have Kuronoma Sawako from our loved romantic anime, From Me To You. Sawako, known for her nickname imposed by her classmates Sadako, she is often confused and often associated as someone who does witchcraft because of her introvertedness and distant personality from the rest of her classmates. What's different with Sawako from the rest of the list though, is that she isn't necessarily girly. She is however, just a chill person who doesn't care much about appearances. What makes her cute though is her innocent upbringing towards friendship which makes her friends want to be with her more.
She is also seen to transform into her adorable chibi-form most of the time, and you can say this is one of my favorite kawaii qualities from Sawako!
